Acerca de la Exhibición

Este es un homenaje a dos momentos importantes en la historia de tango. Tango en París 1920s y "Tango Argentino" show en 1983. El tango, luego de haber sido bailado por la clase alta parisina, fue finalmente aceptado por la sociedad argentina, convirtiéndose en una danza popular. Los años 60 y 70 fueron la decadencia del tango hasta que fue revivido por dos grandes creadores: Héctor Orezzolli y Claudio Segovia a través del show "Tango Argentino", y gracias a este show, hoy se baila tango en todas partes del mundo y estamos disfrutando espectáculos de tango en la Calle Corrientes.

About the exhibition:
This is a homage to two very important moments in the history of tango dance: Tango in Paris in the 1920's and "Tango Argentino" Show in 1983. After being danced in Paris by the high class, tango was finally fully accepted by the Argentinean society. In the second case, after the decadence of tango in the 60's and 70's, tango was revived by Claudio Segovia and Hector Orezzolli through the show "Tango Argentino", and because of that, we all are dancing tango today. It is also because of this success that tango has arrived to the theatres of Calle Corrientes .

Acerca del Fotógrafo:

Sergio Segura ha fotografiado muchos jóvenes bailarines de tango en Buenos Aires, siendo uno de los primeros que trajo fotografía digital. Sergio Segura es productor de muchos eventos de tango argentino alrededor del mundo. El es el creador del Argentine Tango Cultural Tour y productor del Show "Antropología de tango, una presentación multimedial de historia", creado por Antón Gazenbeek. Sergio en conjunto con Antón son productores de videos de enseñanza, libros y documentales fílmicos relacionados con tango.

About the Photographer:
Sergio Segura has photographed many young, professional tango dancers in Buenos Aires, being one of the first in argentina who works with digital photography. Sergio Segura is the producer of many argentine tango events around the world. He is the creator of "The Argentine Tango Cultural Tour" and producer of the show "The Anthropology of Tango Dance: a Multimedia History Presentation", created by Antón Gazenbeek. He also produces tango teaching DVDs and documentary films related with tango.
